EXCERPT FROM VALLEY ADVOCATE:

VOTING for the 2006 Grand Band Slam begins on July 20th!

This year almost 4,000 of our readers sent in the names of those they thought were the best musicians in Western Massachusetts. After looking at all the information sent in we've finally narrowed it all down.

On Thursday, July 20th the website will be live -- Just click the link below, look for the Grand Band Slam logo and cast your ballot! ONLY ONE VOTE PER PERSON, please! Voting ends on August 6th.

All voting this year is online -- there wont be a ballot in the paper -- so this is your chance.

If you'd like to vote in style this year -- we're having a party at Finn MacCool's at 154 Elm Street in Westfield at 7:30 on the 20th. We'll be giving away tickets to OZZFEST, Six Flags passes and we'll have laptops set you so you can cast your vote.

When you've gone through the ballot and picked you favorites -- we're going to ask you one more question...you get to pick one band from all of your favorites to play on the outdoor stage in Stearns Square after the awards ceremony.

Winners of this year's poll will win all kinds of amazing prizes and be invited to play at the Grand Band Slam on September 21st in Springfield, MA.

Celia on WRSI & WRNX

Our music friends at WRSI are playing Celia's track "Like You" daily.....Call 413-586-9555 and tell them another song from Celia's CD "Break" that you'd love them to add to their playlist. Better yet, call WRNX in Holyoke and ask them to play your fave. A tip: make it one of the first three tracks...they're more likely to play one of those.I would call too but I'm not good at pretending to be anyone but Celia. (and even at that I'm known to be a bit of a slacker...)
